A WORD FROM
OUR CEO

Twenty years ago, the oil and gas industry began its journey to digitalize the supply chain with Purchase to Pay and Order to Cash integrations.

As the traditional oil and gas industry faces pressure to decarbonize and the requirement to report emissions, major oil companies and their suppliers must rethink and redesign how they transact with each other.

In addition, the cyclical nature of the oil price and public pressure to move to greener sources of energy create opportunities for major oilfield suppliers to broaden their customer base as they look to diversify. All these lead to shorter-term contracts with non-traditional oil and gas customers, creating the need for an agile digital integration system.

The traditional oil & gas eCommerce integration model must be redesigned to include non-Oil & Gas customers and a new, more agile model is required. Pairing this with the need for more transparent emissions reporting, especially scope 3 to customers, and the evolution of a new digital trading model is clearly imminent.

Through industry leadership in Oil & Gas eCommerce, OFS Portal has engaged suppliers, operators and procurement platforms in implementing a common interoperability model that includes enforcement of proper data protection and sovereignty as well as the use of open industry standards. Today, we continue our industry leadership by introducing The Energy Supply Chain Network.

The Energy Supply Chain Network is a new model that utilizes both the traditional Oil & Gas eCommerce deployments and connecting it to the growing number of regional eDelivery networks which have started to gain traction across the globe. It includes emissions reporting as part of the digital integration with customers.

Coordinated via the Global Interoperability Framework or GIF, the regional eDelivery models permit cross-industry trading partners to set up trading relationships and exchange digital transactions within a matter of days, speeding up and providing an agile way of deploying digital transactions in the market place for non-Oil & Gas customers.

We need to bring these models to the new energy industry and our conference will show how this can be implemented in the current environment.

I look forward to seeing all of you in person at our 20th Annual Conference.
